Remember the Sears Wish Book? The 120 page gift guide was discontinued in 2011, and featured pretty much everything you could imagine from the superstore: home furnishings, holiday decor, toys, appliances, and more!
For everyone who loved and misses the Wish Book, we have great news for you! Sears has brought back their iconic book just in time for the holidays. Talk about nostalgia!
The very first Sears Wish Book (called Sears Christmas Book catalog at the time) came out in 1933.
The Sears Wish Book has everything you’ve ever wanted for the holidays, all in one place! Plus, it will make holiday shopping even easier, as it’s now accessible online and from your phone as well. The digital Wish Book is easy to use; you just have to flip through the pages, and hovering over each item will show you the description and price. Clicking on the heart icon will allow you to add items to your wish list.
If you’d rather have a print version of the Wish Book, no worries! Shop Your Way members will receive an email letting them know when they can pick up their Wish Book from the store, while some of Sears’ best members will get a copy in the mail.
“The new ‘genie in the bottle’ is our Sears Wish Book. From drains to drills to dresses…from tools to TVs to tablets, we’ve got your back!” said Kelly Cook, the chief marketing operator for Sears. “We know the holiday hustle is on! And we’ve got you covered with the Wish Book.”
“Our members told us they missed the Wish Book, so we had to bring it back, but in a special way that lets you share more joy wherever you are.” her statement continued. “There’s gifting inspiration on every page to help you live life now – during the holiday season and throughout the year.”
While Sears has been struggling for the past few years, they’re hoping this push with this Wish Book will help them to reconnect with their more dedicated shoppers from the past. Hopefully, shoppers who are more used to catalog shopping vs online shopping will be attracted to this holiday offer, and it will keep Sears from having to close any more stores.
“The goal was to connect with our members and their memories in a deeper level than just social media interaction.” said Kelly Cook.
