You’ve probably heard about the Ibotta app. But you haven’t signed-up yet. “It seems complicated”, “one more thing to figure out!”, “There’s gotta be a catch somewhere” etc… that was me when I was hearing about it! It took me a couple years before I finally decided to give it a shot. And boy I wished I had signed-up sooner! I lost money procrastinating all that time.
So how does it work?
Before I go grocery shopping, I log in the app, select the store I will be shopping at and browse through the cash back offers. There’s pretty much always a product that’s on my list that has a rebate on ibotta. I select all the offers I want, head to the store and make my purchases as I would normally do. Then about once a week, I gather all my receipts and launch the ibotta app. I take pictures of my receipts and I get credited INSTANTLY.

The Ibotta app is super easy to use and very intuitive. The “Offers” section displays pictures of the products with offers and the total amount of how much you can get back in cash displayed under each product.
What you need to know:
– Ibotta is FREE. It’s available for most iOS and Android devices. With Ibotta, shoppers have the opportunity to earn cash back on select products by performing easy tasks, purchasing the product, then providing proof of purchase.
– Compared to other cach back app, I find that Ibotta has the most offers for many mainstream grocery products
– Perks: they often offer free offers like a FREE mimosa at any bar or restaurant for mother’s day or a FREE beer for at any bar or restaurant for father’s day.
– When you reach $20, you can redeem cash with apypal or Venmo account. Or you choose gift cards from select retailers.
– They offer “Bonuses”, a way for users to earn additional cash.
– They offer friend Bonuses: Ibotta also pays cash for referring friends who register and scan a receipt. To earn these bonuses, your friend should access the registration page using a referral link from you. You’ll earn $3 for each friend who joins, but Ibotta also offers additional friend bonus promotions from time to time in which you can earn extra money if a pre-set number of friends join.
