That’s why, in 2018, Southwest will begin providing flight to Hawaii!

Southwest is known for their low-price flights, so if you’ve been wanting to plan a Hawaiian vacation, you’re in luck! Earlier this year, United Airlines announced that their Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles hubs will start increasing their services to Hawaii starting as early as December.

Alaska Airlines then acquired Virgin Airlines, giving their customers even more options to roam. Now, Southwest is hopping on board and adding flight to Hawaii, much to everyone’s delight! Many are predicting that this addition will likely cause flight prices to the island to become even more affordable.

“One of the most asked questions I get, wherever I go, whatever Southwest employee that I run into, they want to know, ‘When are we going to go to Hawaii,’” said Southwest Airlines Chairman and CEO Gary Kelly. “Hawaii is an important place for Southwest Airlines because so many people count on us to take them everywhere they want to go reliably and affordably. We’re ready and excited to address a request we’ve heard for years.”

Knowing that their customers have been waiting for this moment for quite some time, Southwest announced the exciting news on social media with a live broadcast.

Tickets to Hawaii via Southwest will go on sale next year, and while the prices for the flights are currently unknown, round trip flights with United went for around $439 to $786 last year, so that may give you an idea of what to expect. Southwest flight to Hawaii will be departing out of California.

Needless to say, Hawaii is a major vacation destination, and it often ranks highly as one of America’s favorite travel spots. The addition of a Hawaii hub for Southwest is sending many travelers into a state of major excitement!
