Amazon’s perks just keep getting better and better! Not only will the major online retailer now deliver all your favorite treats and goodies straight to your doorstep, it will also send you wine.
Thanks to Amazon Prime, you pretty much never have to leave your house to buy anything, but Amazon’s decision to finally add wine to the list of deliverable items is a real game changer for many shoppers.
According to Glamour, the wine delivery option is being added to Amazon’s Prime Now service, which is currently available in 30 cities in the U.S.
Out of those 30 cities, however, Prime Now’s alcohol delivery option is now available in the following 12 cities:
Cincinnati
Chicago
Columbus, Ohio
Los Angeles
Minneapolis
New York City
Phoenix
Portland, Oregon
Richmond, Virginia
San Diego
San Francisco Bay Area
Seattle
So, what’s the deal with Amazon Prime Now? It’s a two-hour (or less!) instantly delivery service that Amazon offers for its Prime members.
This option is absolutely perfect for Amazon customers who need to order something fast, but don’t want to leave the house.
For those who live in areas where the weather is constantly changing, like Chicago, Minneapolis, and Seattle, Prime Now can save you from having to leave your house in the freezing cold or pouring rain.
While Prime Now offers a free two-hour delivery option for its customers, you can pay extra to get your items sooner, in less than an hour even!
Not a wine drinker? No problem! Amazon’s alcohol delivery service also includes beer and other spirits.
As the huge online retailer works tirelessly to gain liquor permits, the alcohol delivery service is expected to be available in other major cities soon enough.
“We are excited to continue expanding our product offerings and we know customers will love getting wine and beer delivered right to their door in one hour or less,” Stephenie Landry, vice president of Prime Now worldwide, said back in May. “Whether you run out of wine at your dinner party or need more chilled champagne for mimosas at a family brunch, Prime Now can save customers time with superfast delivery so they can skip a trip to the store.”
“The company adds hundreds of alcohol-related products to its inventory from popular name brands such as Chateau Ste. Michelle, Bud Light and Veuve Clicquot as well as local favorites like Great Lakes Brewing Company, Rhinegeist and MadTree Brewing,” Amazon added in its press release.
