Is there anything better than cuddling up in bed? How about getting paid to cuddle? If you’re a fan of spooning, holding hands, and snuggling up with others, we may have the perfect job for you.

Samantha Hess is a big fan of cuddling, so much so that she created her own business that’s all about it! Her company, ‘Cuddle Up to Me’ was started a little over a year ago, and it’s actually doing quite well. Samantha has created a worldwide sensation with her cuddling brand, and has been interviewed by various print, radio, and television outlets. At just 30 years old, this clever entrepreneur has definitely broken the mold when it comes to a typical business venture.

After Samantha’s marriage fell apart, she was desperate for a change in her life, and she wanted to feel loved and supported. She came across an article about a man who offered free hugs at the market, but was getting beat out by another man who was offering $2 “deluxe hugs”. The concept sparked something in Sam, and that’s where it all started.

“I thought, how great would it be to have someone who would just hug me and make me feel loved, and not need anything from me emotionally?” Samantha said. “Then I came across professional cuddler Jackie Samuel online and I knew I had found my dream job.”
Samantha then began to actively pursue a career as a professional cuddler. After realizing that it was a truly legal profession, and one that could make her some serious cash, Samantha got to work. She hired a lawyer, marketed herself as much as possible, and began taking clients. Soon, her story was spreading like wildfire and she was receiving thousands of emails from potential clients looking to snuggle with her.

Samantha charges $60 an hour for her cuddling services, and plans to open up a retail store that offers certifications for those looking to be a professional snuggler as well.

It may sounds kind of crazy, but as it turns out, professional cuddler is totally a real job title. If you’re like Samantha and want to receive and give support in the form of non-sexual cuddles, you could actually make a career out of this past time!

A couple of things to keep in mind if you want to be a professional cuddler:
-You have to love people- a lot!
-You have to be judgement free, and listen to what would truly make your client happy
-You’ll have to come up with some kind of signal for each other to know when something is uncomfortable
-And, according to Samantha, you’ll want a strong support system

“You have to be so excited about it,” Samantha said about her profession. “Know it. Just own it. If you’re not sure it’s going to work, it’s not going to work.”

Would you ever consider being a professional cuddler?
