As the holidays approach, we’ll see more and more UPS trucks zipping up and down our streets to make sure we get our packages on time.

It may come as no surprise that fall and winter are the biggest seasons for UPS, thanks to the holidays.

As early as September, people are already buying as many Christmas presents as they can to beat the rush at the stores.

Others are simply buying decorations and new décor for their homes in preparation for the changing seasons.

We’re getting into a big season for consumers, and that means money, money, money—which many of us just don’t have.

Well, good news! If you’re looking to earn a little extra cash this holiday season, UPS is actually looking to fill about 95,000 positions.

From November through January, UPS goes on a hiring binge to prepare for the extra work needed during the holidays.

Right now, there are already 2,000 available positions on UPS’ career page. If you can’t find a position you like, make sure to check out UPS’ Jobs Page on Facebook, where there are always plenty of new opportunities.

What will I do working for UPS?

While there are plenty of different positions to apply for, it’s no surprise that one of the most popular is being a driver helper.

As a driver helper, you’ll be delivering packages with drivers and “delivering merriment and cheer throughout the holiday season,” according to the job listing.

As the listing points out, this particular positions is “perfect for college students who return home (or remain on campus) during winter break. It’s a great opportunity for a stay-at-home parent looking for serious cash as the holiday season approaches.”

Is there opportunity to grow?

YES! Unlike seasonal positions at other companies, UPS is very keen on keeping its seasonal workers who really want to stay on with the team.

For many hard workers, UPS is a dream company to work for, since full-time employees are always offered benefits, like a competitive salary; medical, dental and vision insurance; a discounted stock purchase plan; a 401(k); and tuition assistance.

“Over the last three years, 35 percent of the people UPS hired for seasonal package handler jobs were later hired in a permanent position when the holidays were over,” UPS’s press release states.

How do I apply?

Simply head over to the UPS job page and search “seasonal” in your city, or a city near you.
