We’re about one week away from the official beginning of fall, which can only mean one thing: Pumpkin spice latte season is upon us!

Now that the weather is getting chillier by the day, your morning coffee runs are more important than ever.

Starbucks is our go-to spot for warm coffee and comforting seasonal drinks. But but each trip adds up fast, and before you know it, you’re spending over $20 a week on coffee alone!

We know you don’t want to give up your morning mocha, so we have a few great tips to help you save extra cash on your next trip to Starbucks:

  1. Get the App

The first step you should take is to download the Starbucks app and sign up for their My Starbucks Rewards After just five purchases, you’ll be able to take advantage of free iced coffee or drip coffee refills while you’re in the store. You’ll also get a free drink or food item on your birthday! If you buy 30 drinks in 12 months, you’ll finally earn “Gold” status, which means you’ll get a free drink after every 12th
  2. Buy Gift Cards

Check out Gift Card Granny to snag discounts on Starbucks gift cards up to 35% off! Then just load the gift card balance into your Starbucks app and use it like you would a credit card. If you’re an avid coffee drinker, then it makes a lot of sense to buy a discounted pre-paid gift card to take advantage of some awesome savings.
  3. Try Different Drinks

If you’re all about the mocha Frappuccinos, peppermint mochas, and pumpkin spice lattes, then it might be time to rethink your drink. A tall holiday drink from Starbucks will set you back more than $4—that’s a lot of money. Swap that fancy drink out for a regular coffee with a shot of flavored syrup, and you’ll save over $1.50 on your purchase.

  4. Do It Yourself
This trick is a little sneaky, but if you’re a big fan of venti iced drinks, then you’re probably tired of paying so much for your coffee. A trick that a lot of frequent customers use is to order four shots over ice in a venti cup, and then pour the complimentary milk over it. The drink is essentially the same as a venti iced latte, but it will save you about $1.50 each time.
  5. Light Ice
Always ask for light ice in any iced drink you buy because you never want to be stuck with a cup of ice and a lot less of your drink. This is especially helpful for people who do their work or homework inside of Starbucks because you won’t have to get up and pay for tons of refills.
  6. Upsize Your Cup
Always ask for your tall drinks in grande cups and your grande drinks in venti cups. This way, you don’t ever have to ask for room in your drinks, which means you’re money will buy you the maximum amount of coffee. Another bonus? You have more room for milk without spilling your drink everywhere.
  7. Bring Your Own Mug
This will only save you about 10 cents on each trip, but those savings add up really fast if you stop for coffee every day. Just think of how much money you’ll have saved by the end of the year!
