Uber has expanded its business to include an awesome food delivery option that allows its customers to order delicious food in the same way they might through services like DoorDash or Postmates.
Since entering the world of food delivery services, Uber is looking for even more incredible drivers to join its growing team.
The best part? You don’t actually need to have a car.
Unlike being a ride-sharing driver, UberEATS gives employees the chance to work for Uber without owning a car.
There are two different options for UberEATS: instant delivery and full restaurant delivery.
UberEATS Instant Delivery
After signing up for UberEATS, you will have to schedule your shifts about a week in advance.
Since EATS is an instant delivery service, customers will be able to choose from food on a pre-set menu. Drivers will then pick up the food from a distribution center, store it, and deliver it.
You will receive requests through the UberEATS app and deliver food to a customer’s location. Fortunately, you can only receive requests for food you already have, so you will never have to run back to the distribution center for an order.
Depending on the drop-off location, you may not have to walk the food up to a customer’s building, and they may meet you at your car.
Through this instant delivery service, you will make $3/delivery, but Uber expects that its drivers will make about $10 to $20 per hour.
Full Restaurant Delivery
The full restaurant delivery option for UberEATS is certainly a more traditional service in the sense that it requires drivers to drive directly to a certain restaurant to pick up food for customers.
After receiving a request, you will drive over to the restaurant, pick up the order, and drive it to the customer’s location.
The app will tell you if you have to walk up to the door or wait by the curb while dropping off the order.
With this service, you are paid on mileage and time, and Uber will take a 25% cut of your profits.
