Free Courses at Harvard

Want to go to Harvard, Princeton, Stanford or Massachusetts Institute of Technology for free? This might seem crazy but true! Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) have just introduced a new learning opportunities for student around the world. Both Universities are now offering free online courses. This new form of online classes offer opportunities for students and researchers to continue their education without breaking the bank.

Harvard and M.I.T have partnered to bring a new initiative in open online learning called edX. The students that complete this course do not get a degree, but instead they get a certificate of mastery and a grade. No official credit is given for these courses. Courses consist of “video lesson segments, embedded quizzes, immediate feedback, student-ranked questions and answers, online laboratories, and student-paced learning.” The classes start fall of 2012.

Following in this step Stanford, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Michigan have all announced a partnership with a new commercial company Coursera. Online education is here to stay. Take advantage of these new online opportunities that can help improve your resume and expand your knowledge.
