| I DONT THINK THAT THEY ARE REALLY NECESSARY BUT IF YOU WANT TO GO ALL OUT DO IT.BUT IT SHOULD BE A DRESS THAT IS NOT GOING TO BE SO EXPENSIVE SINCE ITS GOING TO BE FOR ONE LITTLE NITE |

| Yes wear your mothers; Gone with the Wind, and dont forget the all the layers and shoulder pads, your boy friend will love it as he sees a sea of ruffles and shoulder pads coming at him in the Gym. |

| It really depends on the girl and how she feels. If she thinks that wearing a prom dress would be better than a "non - prom" dress, then I say go for it. It's her day!! |

| It's a good idea. It represents maturity to the grown up students. IT's more like learning to be feminine and gentlemen. Overall, I should say, it's more like a traditional ocassion for the young people to see the beauty of being mature. |

 nope they are not necessary.my daughter went to her junior and senior prom and she had taken pics and she was the only girl their that had 1 on and she was devastated so no just a nice dress not a"prom"dress is worth it. |

 I don't think a prom dress is necessary my now husband and I went and we both wore tuxes! We looked cool, I used a red ribbon for my tie. |

| Yeah, a prom dress is necessary. Is a dress created for prom necessary? No. Is a very expensive dress necessary? No. Is it even important to have the "prom dress" be a dress? I really don't think so, as long as the girl looks great and feels beautiful. |

| well and and no depends on if you can aford one or not otrher wise there always a way to were some thing not so fancy but yes i beleve a girl should look beuatiful on her prom night! |

| If you are into that and it is your style than get a prom dress, don't spend a fortune on it. I saved for months because I wanted the most incredible gown I could find (my parents had very little money and I think I wanted to feel like a princess for once) and my boyfriend of two years stood me up. I was horrified and never forgave him. I still have the gown and my daughter is growing up to be built just like me, the gown I bought is very classy and is back in style after twenty years and she wants it, lol. My advise... let your girlfriend go to the prom comfortable and as herself. Jennifer Aniston looked drop dead gorgeous in that tight tank top and long blank skirt. Don't pressure her to be someone she isn't, she won't enjoy the evening...it really is about you two and the company you keep, no one will remember what she wore ten years from now. |
